~ The American Legion, the nation's largest veterans service organization, is set to make its modern-day television comedy debut on November 8th. The six-episode series, titled "Office Joe," is written and directed by Army Infantry officer veteran Nick Palmisciano and produced by former Air Force pilot Kevin Alexander Heard. It will be available for streaming on Amazon, Apple TV, and Google Play.
"Office Joe" follows the story of Joe Hauser, a former infantryman who embarks on a cross-country journey to pursue his dream job as a graphic designer. Along the way, he faces the challenges of transitioning from military life to the civilian world. While the show promises plenty of laughs, it also tackles serious issues such as finding purpose and belonging after leaving the military.
Palmisciano and Heard are both members of American Legion Post 6 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They have assembled an all-star cast of military-affiliated entertainers and entrepreneurs for the series. This includes UFC fighter and television star Tim Kennedy, Black Rifle Coffee co-founder Jarred Taylor, actor and writer Jack Mandaville, Instagram star and stand-up comedian Austin von Letkemman (aka MandatoryFunDay), award-winning stand-up comedian Ashley Gutermuth, and Mayans MC star Vincent "Rocco" Vargas.

According to Palmisciano, "Office Joe" aligns with The American Legion's primary mission of reducing veteran suicide through their "Be the One" campaign. The show promotes awareness of this issue while also showcasing the support system provided by organizations like The American Legion.
While this is Palmisciano's first television project, he has previous experience in filmmaking with his 2016 independent film "Range 15." However, he emphasizes that "Office Joe" is a different type of comedy that can be enjoyed by anyone. He hopes that viewers will fall in love with Joe's character and root for him on his journey.
The American Legion is excited to showcase the talents of military-affiliated individuals in the entertainment industry and break stereotypes about veterans. "This is an opportunity for the veteran community to break some barriers and preconceived stereotypes and show how funny veterans can be," says Tim Kennedy.
Jarred Taylor adds, "Not only is it crucial for our transitioning GWOT veterans to be able to laugh and joke about their challenges, but 'Office Joe' also shows the next generation of vets that coming together and tackling massive creative projects is incredibly therapeutic!"
"Office Joe" promises to be a unique and entertaining comedy that highlights the struggles and triumphs of transitioning from military to civilian life. With a talented cast and a powerful message, this series is sure to make a lasting impact on viewers.
