Florida-based, Whoop Connect, Inc., a leading Affordable Connectivity Program internet provider, responds to the stress and urgency to keep their customers informed, and "Keep Them Connected."
MELBOURNE, Fla. - ncarol.com -- Whoop Connect, Inc., one of the largest privately-owned internet, technology, and tablet providers to American citizens via the Affordable Connectivity Program commit their support of the Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act, a bipartisan and bicameral bill introduced on January 10 in Congress that would provide $7 billion in additional funds for the ACP.
The Affordable Connectivity Program, enacted under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as the largest internet affordability program in our nation's history, has brought internet services to over 22.5 million households that save $30-75 each per month on their monthly internet bills since it's inception.
Whoop Connect President, Eric Schouten, clearly stated the company's direction, commitment, and to support the company's customer base of nearly 500,000 U.S. residents they've acquired with affordable internet solutions upon the potential demise of the program. "Since December 2024, when the news broke about the funding hurdles reported by the FCC, Whoop Connect has built, expanded, and made it clear that we won't abandon those we've acquired over the past 2 years."

In a letter to key members of Congress on Monday, January 8th, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said the agency has no choice but to begin "orderly wind-down procedures." Rosenworcel in the letter urged Congress to allocate an additional $6 billion to the program, which she said would extend ACP benefits through the end of 2024.
"We've seen a unique, yet extremely crucial demographic rise-up with the ACP offering over the past year through our digital efforts. Whoop Connect has made a huge impact on women, ages 35-55, who currently are enrolled on SNAP, and carry more than 89% of all our customers online within states like, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and Ohio," said, David Kinsler, Marketing Officer for Whoop Connect.
For example, Ohio is one of the top five states with over 1,130,890 households actively enrolled as ACP recipients. That's about 1 in 5 households in the state. Ohio's also received a total of $554,585,848 in funding from the Affordable Connectivity Program. Texas has received over $822,506,853 in funding, with 1,653,941 Texas households enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program. That's about 1 in 7 households in the state.

The FCC Chairwoman warned if Congress does not provide additional funding for the ACP in the near future, roughly 1,700 internet service providers like [Whoop Connect] will be affected, and they "may cut off service to households no longer supported by the program."
Schouten continues to state, "We made a commitment to our customers the moment they were approved for the ACP program that we're going to provide them with exceptional internet service, the best android tablet on the market, and always be accessible to help them through the process. So, with the balance of additional funding for ACP walking a thin line, we plan to be aggressive and offer affordable, prepaid internet services to our base, if the ACP loses support in Congress. We'll have our customer's back, and that's a fact."
