CHEROKEE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- The beloved outdoor drama, Unto These Hills, is set to captivate audiences once again as it opens its historic 75th Anniversary Season on Saturday, May 31st. For three-quarters of a century, this powerful production has brought the rich and complex history of the Cherokee to life under the stars at Mountainside Theatre. This milestone season promises to be a particularly poignant and celebratory occasion, honoring the legacy of the drama while looking forward to its continued impact.
This year's cast and crew features enrolled members from eight different federally recognized tribes, including Cherokee Nation and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, whose ancestral homeland serves as the backdrop for the action unfolding onstage. These talented Native artists, each bringing their own unique skills and perspectives, will collectively breathe life into pivotal events in Cherokee history.
