Christmas Story Celebrates the Impact of Today's Youth Activism
BREA, Calif. - ncarol.com -- A new Christmas book delves into the struggle of teenagers standing up to authority. Inspired by the likes of Greta Thunberg and the March for Our Lives students, it challenges the status quo, while also delivering a heartwarming holiday story.
AN UNACCEPTABLE CHRISTMAS follows a young girl's attempt to reverse a government ban on Santa Claus. Her defiance begins after her father, serving in a foreign war, is reported missing. Her little brother writes to Santa, asking for his dad's safe return. But mailing letters to Kris Kringle is now a federal offense. Outraged, his big sister launches a spirited campaign to force Congress to repeal the Santa ban, insisting that believing in Santa Claus is every child's right.
Author BRUCE EDWARDS is a former Hollywood film animator. He is also an accomplished musician and composer. But his true passion lies in exploring the peculiarities in human behavior through imaginative storytelling. Why target a young-adult audience? Observes the author: "Kids today see a troubled world and simply ask, 'Is this the best you can do?'"
