SPX FLOW and ANCO deliver tailored solutions for pet food and human consumption. From scraped surface heat exchangers to positive displacement pumps, SPX FLOW technology supports ANCO's commitment to quality, efficiency and minimal downtime for processors of all kinds.
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Sept. 16, 2025 ~ As the pet food and meat production industries continue to grow, the need for efficient and reliable equipment becomes increasingly important. That's why SPX FLOW's Waukesha Cherry-Burrell (WCB) brand and ANCO Equipment & Services have joined forces to celebrate the successful integration of SPX FLOW's Votator® II Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger (SSHE) into ANCO's production systems.

ANCO Equipment & Services, a trusted name in rendering and food processing equipment since 1902, has been utilizing WCB's Votator SSHE and pumps in their systems for years. This partnership has allowed them to deliver consistent product quality, reduce downtime, and protect their critical equipment.

"We have had a long-standing partnership with Waukesha Cherry-Burrell," says Thomas Stanforth, President and CEO at ANCO Equipment & Services. "Their Votator SSHE and pumps are essential components of our systems, enabling us to meet the demands of our customers for efficiency and consistency."

One of the key benefits of this integration is the impact it has on automation. Without proper system controls, processors face significant risks such as product freezing, mechanical damage, costly downtime, and loss of product quality. However, with the integration of automation and controls in ANCO's solutions, these risks are greatly reduced.

By allowing the system to react dynamically to real-time conditions, ANCO's solutions enhance product consistency through precise control, protect critical equipment by predicting potential issues before they occur, reduce reliance on skilled labor amid shortages, and safeguard revenue by preventing shutdowns.

WCB's positive displacement pumps and scraped surface heat exchangers are not only beneficial for pet food production but also for applications such as mechanically separated chicken and rendering systems.

"The Votator II design includes a special splined shaft for high torque applications and a shaft water heater to mitigate product freezing," explains Sydney Heron, Global Product Manager for WCB Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers. "Both of these features contribute to making the Votator II an excellent choice for pet food and meat slurry production."

This successful integration of ANCO's automation expertise with SPX FLOW's heat transfer and pumping solutions highlights the shared values of both companies in providing reliable performance for their customers. With this partnership, processors in the food and pet food markets can achieve consistent product quality, reduced downtime, and stronger equipment protection.
