Recording Artist, David L Cook receives two Emmy nominations for his work with Kool and the Gang Lead Singer, Skip Martin.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Recording artist David L Cook is no stranger to the Emmys. With seven statues already on his shelves he may need to make room for two more should he win with his two new nominations. Cook along with friend and collaborator, Skip Martin who many will know as the famed lead singer of the iconic vocal group, Kool and the Gang worked side by side to bring twenty seven music legends together to join their voices in an effort to make an impact for St. Judes Children's Hospital. They chose the song made famous by Curtis Mayfield, "People Get Ready." Martin is quoted as saying, "This is a time of need and a time for action. Twenty-seven of our friends joined us to let their voices be heard for the cause."
