CLAYTON, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Local author and creator Heather Barbour Fenty, founder of It'sJustBarbs, is turning rainy afternoons into magical moments with a new online storytime series, Rainy Day Readings.
The series features Heather (and her author-friend, Sarah Akida) reading aloud their own children's books along with stories from other talented self-published authors.
"Rainy days have always been made for reading," says Fenty. "There's something special about the sound of rain and a good story. I wanted to give families a way to share that cozy, imaginative feeling — no matter where they are."
Each Rainy Day Readings video features a warmth and storytelling style, inviting kids (and the grownups who love them) to listen, learn, and explore new worlds together. The stories celebrate themes like kindness, friendship, teamwork, and emotional growth — values reflected across Heather's popular Sea book series and companion journals.
