CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 22, 2025 ~ Meridian Waste Acquisitions, LLC, a leading provider of non-hazardous solid waste services, has proudly announced the winners of its 6th annual "Brightening the World" Earth Day Coloring Contest. The heartwarming celebration of creativity and environmental awareness drew in over 1,000 submissions from children across the United States, triple the number of entries received in previous years. This increase in participation highlights a growing enthusiasm for art, nature, and sustainability among young people.
According to Mary M. O'Brien, Chief Marketing Officer of Meridian Waste, the company was amazed by the talent, imagination, and enthusiasm displayed by the children. She stated that it is inspiring to see so many families and teachers engaging in creative activities that help children understand the importance of caring for our planet.
For the first time ever, the contest welcomed entries from 3- and 4-year-olds who made up a significant portion of the total submissions. The contest was divided into three age groups: 3–4 years, 5–7 years, and 8–10 years with three winners per category.
