The Asheville-based artist turns the landscape, movement and creative energy surrounding the French Broad River into her latest piece of cinematic instrumental storytelling.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Independent artist and producer KayeDinero is turning one of Western North Carolina's most recognizable landscapes into music with her newest instrumental single, "French Broad," arriving Sept. 6 and available for preorder now.
Created during KayeDinero's rapidly expanding Asheville chapter, "French Broad" draws inspiration from the river that moves through the region and the Appalachian landscape surrounding it.
For KayeDinero, place has increasingly become part of the composition.
"Since moving to Asheville, I've become fascinated with how much personality exists in the landscape," said KayeDinero. "The mountains, the river, the weather, the live music—everything has movement. 'French Broad' is my way of translating some of that into sound."

The new single follows "Starlight," released Sept. 3, another Western North Carolina-inspired composition, and continues a prolific 2026 catalog that includes "K-Mart," "Grace," "Been Famous," "Red Flag," "Not Social," "Billions Duh," "Saved Me," "Appalachia" and "Hendersonville."
Together, the releases reveal an increasingly recognizable thread in KayeDinero's work: using instrumental production to document places, transitions and personal chapters without requiring traditional lyrics.
"My titles matter because they give the listener a doorway into the music," KayeDinero said. "I can call something 'French Broad' and immediately create a location, but what someone feels when they hear it is still completely their own."
KayeDinero's production combines melodic motifs, atmospheric textures, substantial low-end and deliberately open arrangements. She produces primarily on a MacBook across GarageBand, FL Studio and Logic Pro, moving between platforms according to what each composition requires.

"The software is the workspace," KayeDinero said. "The identity comes from the decisions you make inside it."
