George Johnson kicks off book tour in Atlanta Author & mental health advocate, Georgejohnson Double Crossed: A Memoir by George Johnson
ATLANTA - ncarol.com -- In celebration of Mental Health Awareness month, author and mental health advocate, George Johnson, will host the first stop of his 'Double Crossed' book tour at Atlanta's 44th & 3rd Bookseller this Saturday, May 21st at 2pm.

George's book details his compelling story from growing up in Richmond, Virginia, to becoming a professional basketball player to quickly experiencing multiple life-changing events – starting with career ending injuries and the betrayal of his brothers leading to his federal indictment. Instead of allowing these challenges to hinder his future, George spent months, while on house arrest, journaling his thoughts. This began his mental health journey. His journaling became what we now know as his memoir, Double Crossed. Available now on Amazon.

George looks to not only inspire other young men and women but to also encourage the importance of protecting your mental health.

In addition to being a self-published author, George also owns multiple mental health outpatient facilities throughout Texas and Virginia, with plans to expand to other states. These facilities offer underserved communities a safe space to receive the necessary resources to improve their mental health, which fills an unmet need in these communities.

The Atlanta tour stop will be held at the family-owned, multi-cultural bookstore, 44th & 3rd Bookseller, located in the historic West End – right next to Morehouse's School of Medicine. Tickets are free and currently available at DoubleCrossedATL.eventbrite.com.

The multi-city book tour is expected to hit other major cities in the coming months including his hometown of Richmond, VA, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA and more.
