Asheville Artist KayeDinero Asks What Happens When Technology Gets Too Human on "Human Error"

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- In a city known for creativity, individuality and doing things a little differently, KayeDinero is asking a fitting question:

What happens when the system works—but being human still gets messy?

The Asheville-based artist and producer explores that tension on Human Error, a new seven-track project featuring "Morristown," "Lumière," "Geek Squad," "Become Human," "It's Absolute," "Karaoke Dance" and "Truth Be Told."

Rather than treating technology as the enemy, KayeDinero uses it as a contrast.

"Technology can organize almost everything except the parts of us that are emotional, impulsive, contradictory or intuitive," KayeDinero said. "That is what I liked about the title Human Error. Sometimes the so-called error is actually the most honest part."

A Different Kind of Asheville Album

Although Human Error is not a traditional concept album about Asheville, KayeDinero says living in Western North Carolina influenced the space surrounding the project.

"Asheville gives me room to think," she said. "There is technology and entrepreneurship here, but there is also live music, mountains, art, people making things by hand and people choosing their own version of life. That contrast makes sense to me."

The seven titles move between digital language and human instinct.

"Geek Squad" and "Become Human" lean into the technology theme, while "Truth Be Told" and "Lumière" bring the project inward. "Karaoke Dance" introduces movement and spontaneity, while "Morristown" continues KayeDinero's habit of turning names and places into musical environments.

KayeDinero produces primarily on a MacBook using GarageBand, FL Studio and Logic Pro, but says software is only part of the story.

"The tools help me build it," she said. "They don't decide what it should feel like."

Another Chapter in a Prolific Asheville Era

Human Error follows a rapid series of releases from KayeDinero, including City Girl Saved, "French Broad," "Starlight," "BoomTown," "Barksdale," "Been Famous" and other recent projects increasingly connected to her Asheville chapter.

"I'm interested in building a catalog people can explore like a world," KayeDinero said. "Every title is another doorway."
