Shield Republic Charities' 'Hold the Line' fundraiser for Hot Springs Officer Brent Scrimshire raised more than $11.6K
SMITHFIELD, N.C. - ncarol.com -- In honor of fallen Arkansas police officer Brent Scrimshire, Shield Republic Charities yesterday presented a donation check for $11,637.47 to the officer's bereaved family.
The donation was raised through the charity's "Hold the Line" apparel fundraiser and donated to the Brent Scrimshire Memorial Fund.
Officer Scrimshire, who served with the Hot Springs Police Department, was an award-winning police officer killed in the line of duty March 10. He was gunned down after a round of gunfire with a suspect at a traffic stop on Kenwood Street in Hot Springs.
Shield Republic raised funds for the Scrimshire family through the sale of commemorative tees, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, ladies' tank tops and decals honoring the fallen officer. All net proceeds from the sale were donated to his bereaved family.

"We want to thank the generous and supportive Shield Republic community for pulling together to raise funds for the Scrimshire family while honoring Officer Scrimshire's memory," said Charlie Romero, spokesperson for Shield Republic. "We are very proud to be able to offer one of our biggest donations yet to the family of this beloved hero."
During his six years of service with the Hot Springs Police Department, Officer Scrimshire was recognized as Regional Officer of the Year in 2016 by Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. Last fall, he was honored as the Officer of the Quarter by the Hot Springs PD.
Shield Republic's Hold the Line fundraisers have raised more than $100,000 for the families and units of fallen first responders, police officers and K9 police dogs this year. Every item sold through a Hold the Line fundraiser is designed, printed, and shipped in the USA.
