BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - ncarol.com -- The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences is proud to announce their collaboration with Audible for their illustrious Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor. This year the honor will be presented to Viola Davis by Colman Domingo on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the 10th Annual Voice Arts Awards gala at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. SOVAS created the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor in 2016. The award was created in collaboration with the Muhammad Ali Center and is presented to "an individual whose voice, through humanitarianism, activism or personal sacrifice, has made a decidedly positive impact on our national or global condition as a society." Sculptor Marc Mellon created the bronze sculpture for the award, which depicts Ali mid-speech. Past recipients of the honor include Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Ken Burns, Vance Jones, Lonnie Ali, Stacey Abrams, Wes Studi, and Manuela Testolini.

"The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences is dedicated to the art of voiceover and championing the vibrant global community of voice actors," said Rachel Ghiazza, Chief Content Officer for Audible. "Professional narration is central to the Audible listening experience and I'm constantly inspired by the unbelievable talent and craft that goes into bringing our stories to life and connecting with listeners. We're thrilled to work with SOVAS as they celebrate the incomparable Viola Davis with the Muhammad Ali Voice of Humanity Honor. Not only is she one of the greatest actors of her generation, but she uses the power of her voice to amplify stories that deserve to be heard. We're so proud to share Viola's commitment to social justice and celebrate her well-deserved recognition from SOVAS."
