According to Portalz, the published material introduces a new cryptographic architecture developed from first principles rather than as an extension of conventional encryption systems. The published architecture identifies four claimed world firsts:

• Whole-of-Payload Transformation implementing what Portalz describes as a Logic Impossibility security model.
• Hyperchaotic Fractal Navigation providing a new entropy architecture through Fractal Stream generation.
• Unlimited configurable multidimensional fractal state-space, enabling configurable cryptographic environments.
• Multi-Dominion Cryptography, allowing independent cryptographic domains  to be defined under enterprise control.

Portalz states that these four architectural foundations collectively distinguish FES from conventional computational cryptography by introducing a different security architecture rather than another encryption algorithm.

"The purpose of this publication is to describe the FES architecture and the four foundational innovations from which it is constructed," said Wolfgang Flatow, creator of the Fractal Encryption System. "FES was developed as a new cryptographic architecture.
