After publicly saying she planned to capture the celestial event, the Asheville artist returned with Blue Ridge drone footage set to her original instrumental "Starlight."
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- NASA told skywatchers the Harvest Moon would take center stage.
KayeDinero went outside and filmed it.
The Detroit-raised, Asheville-based artist has released "Starlight," a new aerial visual featuring original drone footage captured as the 2026 Harvest Moon illuminated the mountains of Western North Carolina.
NASA's September skywatching guide highlighted the Harvest Moon rising in the east shortly after sunset, with Saturn nearby in the night sky.
KayeDinero had already publicly announced her intention to capture the event.
Then the moon came up.
So did the drone.
"I said I was going to film it, and I meant it," KayeDinero said. "The moon looked incredible coming over the mountains. Sometimes the best visual concept is already happening around you."

FROM FORECAST TO FOOTAGE
The new visual turns KayeDinero's instrumental "Starlight" into the soundtrack for an actual astronomical event.
It also continues a pattern.
"Appalachia" documented the Blue Ridge Mountains.
"French Broad" took her camera above the river.
"Banks" captured Asheville's South Slope after dark.
Now "Starlight" points the camera toward the sky.
"The river gave me French Broad. Asheville after dark gave me Banks. The Harvest Moon gave me Starlight," she said.
ASHEVILLE WAS WATCHING THE SAME SKY
The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox. In Asheville, this year's moon rose shortly after sunset, giving Western North Carolina skywatchers a clear view of the celestial event.
For KayeDinero, the footage is also part of something larger: documenting her current chapter through the landscape surrounding her.
"Detroit is where my story started," she said. "Asheville changed what I see when I look outside. I want the visuals to preserve that."

And the timing is intentional.
With the Blue Ridge heading deeper into fall, KayeDinero says "Starlight" will not be the final outdoor visual of the season.
