CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 1, 2024 ~ Meridian Waste, a leading non-hazardous solid waste services company, has announced the opening of its 5th Annual Brightening the World Earth Day Coloring Contest. This nationwide contest is open to all children in the United States between the ages of five and 10 years old.

Since its inception, the coloring contest has seen a steady increase in submissions each year. The goal of the contest is to engage children and their parents or caregivers in taking an active role in caring for the Earth and creating a more beautiful world. It also aims to stimulate creativity through art while participating in a national competition.

The contest will have two age categories: five to seven years old and eight to 10 years old. Participation is free and does not require entrants to be customers of Meridian Waste. The coloring contest will begin on March 1 at 12pm EST and end on April 15 at 11:59pm EDT.

"Our commitment to environmentally safe waste operations is crucial for our current and expanding footprint, which includes collection operations in residential areas, commercial facilities, industrial parks, as well as processing and disposal facilities for construction and demolition debris and municipal solid waste."

Six winners will be chosen on Earth Day, April 22nd, with three winners from each age category. The winning entries will be featured on Meridian Waste's social media platforms and website, spreading the message of environmental responsibility and hope for a better future.
