While a country mourns George Floyd, locally owned small businesses are being impacted by looters.
LOS ANGELES - ncarol.com -- As peaceful protestors gain momentum across the nation, some protestors are expressing their anger by looting. Even during what some may label as unjust riots, a community has joined to help a newly opened minority-owned business in the Los Angeles area. A Verizon Authorized Dealer on 1080 S. La Cienega Blvd., owned by childhood friends, and now business partners, Thao Pham, Tony Bernal, Roberto Velasquez and Kevin Figueroa, run the daily operations of their newly formed business and are all supporters of the peaceful protesting movement. However, they were not immune to becoming victims of some of the outrage displayed by the looters.
Today, these small business owners are distraught and in a state of confusion as they question their ability to maintain the business opened during these times of hardship. Their first signs of struggle arose from the corona virus and now the adverse effect from the looting.

Through all the misunderstanding, hate, anger and frustration, a community was still able to come together with love, compassion and support to the small businesses affected. Verizon's neighbor Rabi Adam Kliegfield from Temple Beth Am; a conservative synagogue in Los Angeles that celebrates traditional and innovative Judaism, displays their love and support for their community by their acts of kindness. They embrace the young minority owners by assisting their business owners clean up what was left over of their properties' destruction.
"It only takes one spark to start a fire" (Stated by Verizon Wireless Owner Thao Pham)
This business is scheduled to reopen June 8th, 2020, for now, they are taking appointments.
