CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Legacy Data Access (LDA), a healthcare data archiving company with more than 1,000 applications retired, spent the past six months bolstering its offerings in preparation of healthcare's rising need for secure, accurate and efficient data archiving. LDA has thus made key leadership appointments, including a new CEO and chief technology officer (CTO), and launched a new pricing model that removes the barriers to proactive archiving, along with other initiatives.
HIMSS research indicates 73% of healthcare organizations still maintain legacy operating systems, while a recent LDA focus group of health system IT leaders showcased the top four concerns associated with archival as:
1) Rise in M&A and market consolidation;
2) Question marks around how current legislation will impact archiving;
3) Security and expertise of third-party archival partners; and
4) Current economic and staffing climate.
"Research shows legacy systems present the third-highest security challenge healthcare organizations currently face, yet health systems often are slow to retire these systems due to the burdens of risk, hassle and cost," said Tony Jaros, CEO, LDA. "In 2022, we made it our mission to unburden healthcare data archiving for health systems—and we made tremendous strides in meeting the industry's growing needs."

LDA selected the following key initiatives to address top market concerns:
- New senior leadership team. LDA—which is solely focused on healthcare data archiving—began by hiring an almost entirely new executive leadership team, bringing on Jaros as CEO, a senior leader with deep expertise as a chief product officer, strategic advisor, marketing and research executive, and customer relationship consultant to head LDA. The company also added CFO Peter J. Henrikson, CTO Jim Boyer and vice president of product Shawn Fichter.
- A new model for pricing. LDA developed the healthcare industry's only customized pricing model for data archiving. The model centers around the fact that archival of a legacy system exponentially reduces the costs of maintaining that data, but health systems can be hesitant to pay upfront fees of archival. "Our custom pricing model ensures health systems don't have to sacrifice financial solvency to keep their data secure and readily accessible," Jaros said.
- A six-phase methodology for value. LDA outlined its value proposition for health systems with a six-phase methodology for healthcare data that simplifies the legacy data archival process for health systems—with less guesswork and burden on IT than other industry options. The methodology centers around clinical, financial and operational data that can be extracted from the health system without conversion to a new file format, removing concerns about security and accuracy and significantly reducing turnaround.
- Rollout of an education-focused brand standard. LDA's new brand aims to focus solely on the education and support of customers, as it pursues new support services and positions itself as a trusted resource. "We are one of the longest tenured archival companies in healthcare, so our internal expertise on systems and provider needs is one of our top values. I'm committed to ensuring this knowledge gets shared with our customers often and in full," Jaros said.
