La Duke's Third Book Takes On Business Beyond Safety

"Of course I have a certain style that my readers have come to expect and mostly enjoy, but I got a little tired of being the "barking rat" of worker safety," says La Duke.  "Anyone can point out the cracks in the system and I wanted to write a book that did more than pick knits. The book tackles safety holistically, dealing with issues as diverse as leadership, process capability, accountability, competency, and employee engagement; all elements of a well-run, and thus safer company.

The book is surprisingly in-depth and draws on La Duke's extensive experience in leadership development and Organizational Development (OD) and while his depth of knowledge of the topics is clear, the book never strays into academic theory and instead stays firmly grounded in the reality of the work world.
