The author of the books I Know My Shoes Are Untied. Mind Your Own Business and Lone Gunman. Rewriting the Handbook On Workplace Violence Prevention follows up with a controversial new book.
ALLEN PARK, Mich. - ncarol.com -- Phil La Duke doesn't suffer fools gladly, in fact, he grabs them by the throat and forces them to look straight down the barrel of reality. His latest work is no exception. In Blood In My Pockets Is Blood On Your Hands (Marriah Publishing, 2020) is a rapacious bite at the throat of modern business and management practices.
"Of course I have a certain style that my readers have come to expect and mostly enjoy, but I got a little tired of being the "barking rat" of worker safety," says La Duke. "Anyone can point out the cracks in the system and I wanted to write a book that did more than pick knits. For every problem I point out, I tried—and I think succeeded— to offer practical no-nonsense solutions that didn't require the intervention of an expensive consultant," he explains.

The book tackles safety holistically, dealing with issues as diverse as leadership, process capability, accountability, competency, and employee engagement; all elements of a well-run, and thus safer company.
The book is surprisingly in-depth and draws on La Duke's extensive experience in leadership development and Organizational Development (OD) and while his depth of knowledge of the topics is clear, the book never strays into academic theory and instead stays firmly grounded in the reality of the work world.
The book can be purchased at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and independent book stores.
"We even did a special edition for Barnes & Noble for this one and the hardcover is in full color so it truly is worth the extra money," according to La Duke.
