Kuester Management Group outlines tips on dealing with common parking problems within the HOA community to enhance property value and member satisfaction.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Most HOA members have at least one vehicle. Some families may have two or three. This makes managing the flow of traffic and setting clear parking rules important to keep things moving and prevent backups and eyesores. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding how to navigate some of the challenges that come with parking problems.
"Encouraging members to park in their driveways or garages whenever possible instead of on the street can help with keeping the roads clear and passable," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "If cars are parking on the street, the HOA may want to designate one side for use so there is at least one unobstructed lane and vehicles aren't weaving back and forth."
To maintain aesthetics, the HOA may put policies in place about what types of vehicles are allowed as well, says Kuester. There may be restrictions when it comes to commercial vehicles, boats, trailers, or oversized vehicles such as RVs. Inoperable or poorly maintained vehicles may be relegated to garages so as not to be an eyesore.

In communities with limited parking, designated spots may be assigned to each homeowner with some visitor parking for guests. The HOA may put limitations on how long visitors are allowed to occupy these spaces to ensure others have access as well and to curb long-term parking.
"Not all HOA communities require strict parking regulations, so policies will vary from one association to the next," says Kuester. "Ensure that any rules make sense for your membership, they are clearly defined and enforceable, and changes are documented in the governing documents."
Kuester can assist HOAs in dealing with parking issues, crafting guidelines that make sense, and communicating any changes with members. Learn more by visiting www.kuester.com.
