FRANKLINTON, N.C. - ncarol.com -- The Franklin County Home Builders Association (FCHBA) is delighted to announce that the grand opening of its first-ever permanent home will take place on Thursday, June 13, 5:30 – 7:30 PM at 16 South Main Street in Franklinton. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and a brief recap of the association's origin, as well as delectable fare from local Franklinton restaurants such as Owl's Roost, Toros, Eli's Tavern, and Franklin County-based Cook Shack Catering.
"Our new home is in the heart of the fast-growing area of downtown Franklinton," says Sara Kusan, FCHBA Executive Officer. "We're excited to be a part of the revitalization taking place in our wonderful downtown."
The former site of Cook Funeral Home and Woodlief's Hardware, Franklinton's 16 South Main Street consists of 2,400 square feet of office space and 2,600 square feet of venue space. The new office will provide a permanent setting for various FCHBA gatherings, including Board of Director and committee meetings. FCHBA members will have the ability to reserve the conference room in the new space for company meetings, while other area businesses will be allowed the opportunity to rent the venue space.

"The home building industry represents approximately 30% of Franklin County economic activity," states Kusan. "We expect to see this figure grow, as the FCHBA has experienced a 350% increase in membership over the past five years. Additionally, we are pleased to be developing a strong governmental/regulatory affairs presence in Franklin County. The FCHBA sponsors various activities throughout the year, such as an autumn Parade of Homes event widely attended by consumers living in Franklin County and beyond. The future of both Franklin County and our association is exciting."
Formed in 1980, the FCHBA is a non-profit association of building professionals dedicated to promoting, educating, and advocating the advancement of the residential construction industry while serving the community and promoting affordable housing and the American Dream of home ownership.
