ASHEVILLE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc., of Johnson City, Tennessee, is thrilled to have had the opportunity to chat with Martha Jane Orlando, author of two middle-grade series, on Bookmarked, the company's weekly podcast and blog duo.
Martha Jane Orlando fell in love with the Nantahala Mountains of North Carolina when her husband, Danny, and she stayed there on their honeymoon. The majestic scenery, sparkling streams, and wooded trails create the perfect backdrop for her two trilogies, The Glade Series and Adventures in the Glade. Martha Jane is a former middle school teacher and an English graduate from Emory University. She has a son, a daughter, and two stepsons, all grown. She is well acquainted with the challenges and joys of a blended family, and many of the situations described in her books mirror her own personal experiences. Readers can visit Martha Jane at her website gladetrilogy.wix.com/theglade or at facebook.com/nantahala55.
The Glade Series and Adventures in the Glade follow the story of ten-year-old Davy Murray. Spending the summer at Grandpa Will's farm with his family is the last thing Davy wants. How will he survive without his friends, the pool, and his computer? There isn't even a television at Grandpa's house! Doesn't anyone see how miserable he will be?

In his frustration, Davy turns his anger on his mother, Kate, his sister, Anna, and especially his step-father, Jim. Davy is determined to make their summer as dismal and disappointing as he believes his will be. But then, Davy has a most surprising and unexpected encounter…one which will change his heart and his world forever.
Listeners can hear Martha Jane Orlando discuss her trilogies on this week's episode of Bookmarked.
