Mobleys sets the bar for quality framing in the Triangle, earning industry certifications, awards, and national recognition
RALEIGH, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Mobleys, a Raleigh-based custom frame shop, has achieved a series of notable accomplishments this year that underscore its dedication to setting the standard in creative and preservation conscious framing. Not only does Mobleys now have three Certified Picture Framers (CPF) on staff, the most in the Triangle area—making it one of only two shops in North Carolina and only a handful in the nation to reach this level of certification—but it has also received industry-wide recognition through a recent framing award and a magazine feature.
At the February 2024 West Coast Art and Frame (WCAF) conference, Mobleys was honored with an award for one of its custom frames, a distinction that reflects the artistry and attention to detail Mobleys brings to each project. This award-winning frame went on to be featured on the cover of the September issue of Picture Framing Magazine, along with a 'Frame of the Month' article detailing its construction and the innovative methods used.

"Prioritizing framer certification and customer education is how we set Mobleys apart from big box stores, whose focus on profit leads to untrained framers taking shortcuts and using incorrect methods that risk damaging cherished items," said Kieren Marcombe, owner of Mobleys. "Our commitment to preservation practice means that our customers can rest easy knowing that each piece is handled with the utmost care and framed in a way that will be safely preserved for future generations to enjoy."
As one of North Carolina's most certified frame shops, Mobleys is dedicated to elevating framing practices in an under-regulated industry. This unique blend of creativity, craftsmanship and certified expertise continues to make Mobleys a trusted name in custom framing across the Triangle.
