Exciting features of the 2024 HA5K include – performance tech race shirts, custom bling finisher medals, health screenings and information stations, a live DJ, fun awards ceremony and a host of health and wellness focused professionals and vendors to round out a health street festival.
The Foundation strives to foster exceptional achievement amongst young men in the Charlotte / Mecklenburg County community through diligent role modeling, mentoring, structured involvement and open access to economic scholarship and resources. To this end, the Foundation hosts two primary programs - Kappa League and the Beautillion Militaire (our 48th year running, focused college preparatory and life skills program).
– Kappa League is rooted in the spirit of assisting young men who are in need of counsel, mentoring and positive role models to aid in the navigation of their journey from childhood to manhood, particularly from a personal and scholastic development perspective. Just over the last five years (even through the pandemic), approximately 400 young men from 8th – 11th grade, participated in the Kappa League Program. In 2023, we expanded our Kappa League to include Cub Scout Pack 1911 for Kindergarten - 5th grade boys.
