RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Officials of The Preiss Company (TPCO), one of the nation's largest, privately-held, student housing owner-operators, today announced that John Preiss has been promoted to president. In his new role, Preiss will oversee executive leadership and continue to foster the company's growth in both student and conventional multi-family industries. Founder Donna Preiss will continue her role as CEO of TPCO.

"Having played an integral role in making our company what it is today, John has demonstrated time and again excellent leadership and tremendous fiscal responsibility, making him the perfect person for this position," Donna Preiss said. Since joining the company in 1998, Preiss has held a series of increasingly responsible roles, including broker, vice president, executive vice president of new business development and chief investment officer. In the CIO role, he oversaw all investments and joint ventures. He has sourced more than $10 billion in debt and equity, and since the beginning of 2021, has successfully led his team to closing approximately $3 billion in transactions. Preiss earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from College of Charleston. He currently serves on the board of directors and executive committee for the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC). Additionally, Preiss holds a CCIM accreditation and sits on the University Council for ULI.
