Christ's Church at Moore Square seeks five donors to commit to a monthly donation of $25 to help those experiencing homelessness find safe shelter.

RALEIGH, N.C. - ncarol.com -- The recent Supreme Court ruling allows cities to enforce laws prohibiting public camping and sleeping, even when no shelter is available. This ruling is an opportunity for believers in Christ to address homelessness with compassion rather than look to the government or city authorities for solutions.

As Christians ("belonging to Christ"), we can respond with love and support for our neighbors in need. A monthly donation of $25 can place someone in a motel, giving them a safe place to sleep and preventing encounters with law enforcement.

But your generosity also leads to rewards for you.
  • Proverbs 19:17: Kindness to the poor is lending to the Lord, and He repays.
  • Matthew 25:35-40: Helping those in need is like helping Jesus.
  • Luke 6:38: Give generously, and you will receive abundantly.
  • Isaiah 58:10-11: Helping those in need brings light and guidance to you.
  • Proverbs 22:9: Generosity to the poor brings blessings for the one who gives.
  • Psalm 41:1-3: Caring for the needy brings God's protection.
  • 2 Corinthians 9:6-8: Generosity leads to abundant blessings from God.
  • Deuteronomy 15:10: When you give generously with joy, God blesses your work.

No Judgment — Just Jesus At Christ's Church at Moore Square, our mission is to offer the good news of Jesus and be this good news to our neighbor. Following the early-church model, we act on the needs of others as the Spirit prompts, without lengthy committee meetings.
