PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - ncarol.com -- The MLJ Trust is delighted to announce the completion of a major audio remastering project by dedicated volunteers. This effort aimed to preserve and distribute the sermon library of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, a renowned 20th-century Welsh Protestant minister, preacher, and medical doctor who greatly influenced the Reformed wing of evangelicalism. The remastered work includes sermons on the book of Romans which exemplifies the tireless work being done to deliver God's Word to the world.
Dr Martyn Lloyd-Jones's sermon series on the book of Romans was preached to the congregation at Westminster Chapel in London on Friday evenings between October 1955 and March 1968. These sermons were preached from the beginning of October until the end of May each year. Spanning 366 sermons over twelve years, his series on the book of Romans is the most expansive, expositional series Dr Lloyd-Jones has ever done.

Dr Lloyd-Jones regarded the book of Romans as the 'first in importance' among the New Testament epistles. Indeed, Dr. Lloyd-Jones likely saw his exposition of the Book of Romans as his most important work, as evidenced by the fact that he chose his Romans sermons as the first of his many sermons published following his retirement.
Dr. Lloyd-Jones's exposition of Romans 1 covers an expanse of more than 30 sermons. He starts with an analysis of the importance of a solid foundation and continues laying the foundation with sermons on the Gospel of God, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to the world.
In Romans 2, we find sermons on some of the weightier matters of the Gospel, beginning with man's sin and coming judgment according to the truth. Dr. Lloyd-Jones then leads his listeners into an understanding of the grace of a longsuffering God and how God's goodness leads us to repentance. As we move deeper into Chapter 2, we see how there is none righteous, and it is by faith we are saved, not by works. Dr. Lloyd-Jones concludes this section by expounding further on the good news that it is open to all who believe.

Other pivotal passages, including chapter 12, get strong exposition within the sermons on Romans. Dr. Lloyd-Jones takes the time for a three-part mini-series on renewing the mind. A series on spiritual gifts complements this; as listeners follow through the section on Romans 12, we get a practical view of Christian life.
Dr. Lloyd-Jones' sermon series on Romans is one of his most well-known and loved series. The depth of this section of scripture provides a foundational understanding of faith, and Dr. Lloyd-Jones' sermons remain accessible to believers, new and old while calling them to explore beyond just the surface.
