$25,000 matching grant will be celebrated at local Petco event on June 23rd, 2022
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Forsyth Humane Society is set to receive a $25,000 matching grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love during a special celebration at the Kernersville Petco, 1080 S Main Street, Kernersville, North Carolina on June 23 at 11 a.m. in support of their lifesaving work for animals in Forsyth County. The grant investment will be a match campaign to help FHS purchase in-house blood analyzers for their medical department. In-house diagnostic testing will decrease the length of stay for shelter pets, help diagnose infections and diseases in shelter pets, and will reduce organizational expenses. Petco Love will match your gift dollar for dollar until September 30. Your lifesaving gift will make double the impact for cats and dogs. You can make a gift to the match campaign by texting FHS to the number 243-725 or by donating online at forsythhumane.org.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested $330 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with 6.5 million pets adopted and counting.
"Our investment in Forsyth Humane Society is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized," said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. "Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We recently celebrated the one-year launch anniversary of Petco Love Lost, a national lost and found database that uses pet facial recognition technology to simplify the search for lost pets."

"Petco Love's lifesaving investment in our organization will make a major impact in our daily operations at both of our shelter locations. As the only open admission animal welfare organization in Forsyth County, N.C., we do not turn away any cat or dog that comes to us. We do not deny entry based on age and health, which means many of our animals need medical care. Testing cats and dogs with in-house blood analyzers will allow us to diagnose our animals faster and reduce our operational expenses. Petco Love's gift will be a lifechanging investment for the cats and dogs of Forsyth Humane Society," said Mark, Neff, Forsyth Humane Society, President and CEO.
