LOS ANGELES - ncarol.com -- This past Saturday on March 23, 2024, Not Your Daddy's Films, a social impact organization championing women and non-binary filmmakers through screenings, panels, a podcast, and various other initiatives, hosted an electric evening at The Whitley (also known as Club King King) in the heart of Hollywood. The event, which had eager attendees lined up all the way around the block before it opened, was the 9th edition in a series of short film showcases and after-parties by NYDF that celebrate vibrant and diverse voices in film.
Multi-talented filmmakers featured at the event included Shogun staff writer Maegan Houang with her short In Full Bloom; Megan Chumbley with Power Glow Diamond Infused Metallic Face Mask; Milana Vayntrub with Pickled Herring; Lucy Sandler with Hush; Olive Nwosu with Egúngún; and Sam Fox with F'ckn Nuts.
Following the screening, the filmmakers took to the stage for a moderated Q&A session that gave the audience a glimpse into their artistic preferences and creative processes for the featured works. The energy from this candid exchange of ideas and experiences, combined with a curated music playlist and good vibes, carried the crowd into an after-party that went well into the night.
