The Asheville producer pairs her original single "French Broad" with aerial cinematography she captured herself as the city's riverfront continues its recovery and creative comeback.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Nearly two years after Hurricane Helene transformed Asheville's riverfront, KayeDinero is showing the French Broad River from a different perspective: above it.

The Detroit-raised, Asheville-based artist has released the official aerial visual for her single "French Broad," pairing her own music with drone cinematography she captured over the river herself.

"I wrote the music. I flew the drone. I filmed the river," KayeDinero said. "That makes this one personal."

The French Broad Is More Than a Backdrop

The visual arrives during an important chapter for Asheville.

Helene caused at least $25 million in damage to more than 200 acres of public parks, greenways and recreation facilities along the French Broad riverfront, according to the City of Asheville. Recovery and redesign work remains underway.

KayeDinero's visual is not presented as a disaster documentary.

Instead, it captures the river as it exists now — a landscape continuing to move while Asheville rebuilds around it.

"When you live here, the French Broad isn't just scenery," she said. "You drive beside it. You walk near it. You watch Asheville happen around it."

Asheville's Creative Comeback From the Sky

The river also runs beside Asheville's River Arts District, which was voted the No. 1 Best Arts District in the U.S. in the 2026 USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards following an extensive period of post-Helene rebuilding.

That combination of landscape and creativity increasingly defines KayeDinero's Western North Carolina catalog.

Her releases include "Appalachia," "French Broad," "Haywood Road," "Hendersonville," "Barksdale," "Nine Mile" and "Glizzy Glock."

Earlier this month, KayeDinero also released an aerial visual for "Appalachia."

Now the camera comes closer to home.

"Detroit gave me one way of seeing the world," she said. "Asheville literally changed the view."
