Kuester Management Group shares some of the advantages of living in a community with a thriving association.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Millions of Americans across the country live in a HOA communities. While there are a few unflattering stories that get blasted across social media and the news, there are plenty of good things that come from associations and members who are happy with their board. Kuester Management Group has released a statement to the press regarding a few of the benefits of having this governance in place and how it helps homeowners.
"There are a lot of positives that happen in HOAs every day that are often overlooked," says Bryan Kuester, President of Kuester Management Group. "When homeowners are following established policies and expectations, their neighborhood looks great, they enjoy a variety of amenities and events, and the complaints are minimal."
Something as simple as having an approved palette of paint colors or requiring approval for exterior changes can prevent one home from becoming an eyesore or detracting from the rest of the community, says Kuester. Having a vendor come through and manage landscaping for common areas can present a more appealing aesthetic and ensure these mutual spaces are not overgrown since they are not a single person's property.

HOA dues allow members to share the costs for desirable amenities such as pools, fitness centers, basketball or tennis courts, playgrounds, and meeting spaces. It can make access more affordable than homeowners having to travel elsewhere or pay separate memberships. Plus, homeowners know that these areas will be well managed and maintained.
"In addition, everyone is held to the same expectations, so it creates a sense of pride in the community and protects property values," says Kuester. "Homeowners know what is acceptable and what is not, and they have a board they can turn to if they have concerns or recommendations. Everyone is working together for the common good and toward mutual goals."
Kuester Management Group partners with HOAs in North Carolina and South Carolina to keep their associations running as effectively and efficiently as possible. This includes providing guidance in understanding governing documents, assisting with enforcing rules, helping manage budgets and vendors, and much more.
