CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 15, 2024 ~ Amwins, a leading global distributor of specialty insurance products and services, has announced the appointment of Jon Beckham as the new president of Amwins Program Underwriters (APU). APU is a managing general agent (MGA) that specializes in affinity program management. Beckham will be taking over from Ben Francavilla, who has been serving as president since 2009 and recently announced his retirement scheduled for later this year.
In his new role, Beckham will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of APU and driving the growth and development of 35 insurance programs that cover a wide range of niche industries. APU currently has nine locations across the United States and employs over 175 dedicated professionals. With an annual premium of $550 million, APU is a major player in the industry.
Francavilla has been with Amwins since 1999 when his company was one of the founding entities. Under his leadership, APU has experienced significant growth, nearly doubling its number of specialty programs and increasing its annual premium by over 400%.
