NEW YORK - ncarol.com -- Espanita Tequila Company, LLC is pleased to announce that Espanita® Añejo Artisanal Tequila and Espanita Reposado Artisanal Tequila each received Gold medals from the USA Spirits Rating Competition, which took place in San Francisco in October 2020. "Winning a Gold medal at the USA Spirits Ratings Competition is the ultimate seal of approval, showing that Espanita® is a high-quality tequila with broad consumer appeal," says Marina Wilson, President, Espanita Tequila Company, LLC.
The judging panel consisted of spirits industry experts with extensive commercial buying expertise, including professionals from leading retail chains, wholesalers, distributors, specialty retailers and casual and fine dining establishments. The inclusion of so many high-profile judges ensured that spirits awarded medals in competition were those with a high degree of commercial appeal. Spirits were evaluated across three different criteria (Quality, Value and Packaging) and assigned scores on a 100-point basis. The goal of the USA Spirits Ratings competition is to find, evaluate and award spirits that successfully score well across each of these three major scoring criteria.

In order to receive a Gold medal, a spirit needed to score at least 90 points as part of a total weighted score. Espanita Añejo tequila garnered 92 points and Espanita Reposado tequila scored 94 points.
According to Sid Patel, CEO and Founder of event organizers Beverage Trade Network (BTN), "This innovative scoring system has been instrumental in identifying world-class spirits that consumers actually want to drink. We've broadened the definition of drinkability, in order to reflect how spirits drinkers actually choose which spirits they buy at a retail store or order from a bar menu."
Marina Wilson added, "It's been an incredible journey bringing Espanita Artisanal Tequila to the market and these awards are truly gratifying". Wilson adds: "Espanita Artisanal Tequila has been designed with a motto "affordable luxury without compromise" and we are really excited that Espanita scored so highly not only for the taste but for its packaging and value as well. This award is a validation of our spirit making expertise and our dedication to offer consumers true artisanal quality tequila presented in upscale packaging at a highly competitive shelf price".
