ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Oct. 11, 2024 ~ Duke Energy Florida, a subsidiary of Duke Energy, has been working tirelessly to restore power to its customers impacted by Hurricane Milton. With 16,000 resources and multiple crews working throughout the night, the company has issued estimated times of restoration for different counties in Florida.
According to Todd Fountain, Duke Energy Florida storm director, while some customers will have their power restored earlier, the majority who can receive power are expected to be restored by specific dates and times. For Brevard, Citrus, Hernando, Highlands, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia Counties, power is estimated to be restored by Sunday, Oct. 13 at 11:59 p.m. For Pasco and Pinellas Counties, the estimated time of restoration is Tuesday Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m.
Fountain also reassured customers that the company is working diligently to restore power as quickly as possible and thanked their team for their hard work and commitment. He also expressed gratitude towards local officials and first responders for their support during this time.

Customers can report power outages through four different methods – visiting duke-energy.com on a desktop or mobile device; using the Duke Energy mobile app; texting OUT to 57801; or calling the automated outage reporting system at 800.228.8485.
For customers who are unable to receive power due to damage to their property's meter base or electrical wiring owned by them should contact their local municipalities for guidance. Inspections may be required after repairs are complete.
The most up-to-date information about power outages can be accessed through Duke Energy's Outage Map or by enrolling in Outage Alerts.
