CHARLOTTE, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Dr. Sean Freeman, a renowned facial plastic surgeon and inventor of the SOOF lift blepharoplasty, was a featured speaker at the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 25-28, 2023. He spoke on the SOOF Lift for lower lid rejuvenation and the Deep Plane Lift using the Malar Pad Lift.

Dr. Freeman authored a paper entitled "Endoscopic Malar Pad Lift" in 1996 and has been doing deep plane surgery incorporating the malar pad lift ever since; making him one of America's first surgeons to use deep plane techniques.

The SOOF Lift is  "The Gold Standard" for lower lid blepharoplasty. The procedure gives more natural-looking results, is longer-lasting, and has fewer risks than the old ways of doing lower lid surgery.

Dr. Freeman's early adoption of minimal facial aesthetic surgery, and innovative surgical techniques, along with his years of experience have made him a sought-after teacher and lecturer to his peers, all over the world. He introduced the "Transconjunctival Lower Lid Blepharoplasty with SOOF," which described a new technique for improving the results of lower eyelid surgery, in 2000.

About the AAFPRS

The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) is the world's largest specialty organization for facial plastic surgeons. AAFPRS members are highly trained and experienced surgeons who specialize in a wide range of facial procedures, including rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, and chin augmentation.

About the SOOF Lift Blepharoplasty

The SOOF lift blepharoplasty is an innovative lower eyelid surgery procedure that provides natural-looking results with minimal downtime. The SOOF lift addresses the underlying causes of lower eyelid aging, including volume loss, descent of facial tissues, and loss of skin elasticity.

Benefits of the SOOF Lift Blepharoplasty

The SOOF lift blepharoplasty offers a number of benefits over other lower eyelid surgery procedures, including:
  • Natural-looking results: The SOOF lift blepharoplasty is designed to restore a more youthful appearance to the lower lids, not a "fake" look. Dr. Freeman carefully positions the facial fat pads and muscles to create a natural and harmonious result.
  • Minimal downtime: Most patients are able to return to work and social activities within a week of surgery.
  • Less invasive than traditional lower eyelid surgery: The SOOF lift blepharoplasty requires smaller incisions and less dissection than traditional lower eyelid surgery. This results in less pain and bruising.
  • Safe and effective: The SOOF lift blepharoplasty has been performed on thousands of patients worldwide.
