From February 3rd around 5PM, Weather Permitting, "Diamond Fuji" will be visible from a observatory of TOKYO SKYTREE Tembo Deck Observatory, when the Sun, Mt. Fuji, and TOKYO SKYTREE align in a straight line. This breathtaking phenomenon occurs only twice a year – in November and February.

TOKYO, Japan - ncarol.com -- What better way to celebrate with your Valentine during the month of love than to fixate on "Diamond Fuji" from the TOKYO SKYTREE Tembo Deck Observatory. From February 3rd around 5PM, the setting sun will lower its glow near the summit of Mt. Fuji, lining up perfectly with TOKYO SKYTREE for a breathtaking view (weather permitting).

Even though foreign passport holders cannot travel to Japan at this time, they can participate in this special event by watching it on social media. Tobu Railway Group, which owns TOKYO SKYTREE, will photograph and videotape this awesome experience and post and share it on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tobugroup.en

What is "Diamond Fuji"?

At the specific moments when the sun rises above and sets below the summit of Mt. Fuji a scene where diamonds sparkle can be viewed at a distinct time of year. This phenomenon is called "Diamond Fuji."

The "Ley line" Connecting TOKYO SKYTREE and Mt. Fuji

TOKYO SKYTREE, the "highest free-standing tower in the world," is built on the ley line (a row of ancient ruins and sacred sites lined up in a straight line) that connects Mt. Fuji with Meiji Shrine the Imperial Palace, and Kashima Shrine. TOKYO SKYTREE has also been identified as one of the best "power spots" in Tokyo. Furthermore, specifically on February 4th, the sun rises from Kashima Shrine, the starting point of this ley line and sets right above Mt. Fuji.

Praying for the Perfect Timing at TOKYO SKYTREE!

The custom of worshiping the setting sun has been observed worldwide since ancient time. This February, in light of the Covid-19 Pandemic, in addition to celebrating the sun and the month of romance, local visitors - can make a wish at the new " W1SH RIBBON" (The number "1" signifies a wish on the #1 tallest freestanding tower in the world) power spot stop. Virtual visitors can watch others W1SH and pray along with them, and they can do this with the setting sun over Mt. Fuji as their backdrop.

Hopefully, we can all be inspired by romance and positive wishes as the sun sets over Mt. Fuji.
