The Charlotte-headquartered nonprofit cited, 2019 to 2023 CDC reports highlighting Charlotte's unfortunate distinction of having the highest suicide rate among teens and young adults in the state and the overwhelming support of local parents, small business, and local mentoring & mental health services  providers among the people of this genuinely caring community as a deciding factor in selecting Charlotte as the summit's first stop.

The urgency of this issue cannot be overstated. With 2023 marking the highest recorded numbers of suicide and mass shootings in history, Charlotte is poised to lead the nation in suicide prevention, setting a collaborative approach, and netting groundbreaking innovations which extend far beyond city limits.
