How a small prophecy in the Bible may point to America's future.

RALEIGH, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the U.S. Congress on July 24, 2024. If we are listening, we may hear God speak on the future of America.

"This is what your brother Israel says: You know about all the hardships that have come upon us. Our ancestors went into German prison camps, and we lived there until many died. The Germans mistreated us and our ancestors, but when we cried out to the Lord, He heard our cry and sent America and others to bring us out of Germany.

"Now we come once more and ask for your help, but your president turns us out. Neither he nor his officials meet with us. One goes to gain more wealth; another says he must speak with his constituents. On the day we seek an audience with your president he finds it necessary to explain why he is no longer able to serve.

"I tell you this day, if America refuses to help Israel, the Lord will make you small among the nations. Today, you are Esau, Jacob's brother. You say, 'Under God we trust.' Do you? Are you a people who love the same Lord we love?

"When Edom turned us away, the Lord said of Jacob's brother: 'You are greatly despised. The arrogance of your heart has deceived you. Though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down. You will be ransacked, and your hidden treasures searched out. Your wealth will be stolen when all your allies come against you. They will chase you to your borders. Those who promise you peace have deceived you.'

" 'Will I not destroy your wise men,' declares the LORD, 'and remove understanding from your people? Because of violence to your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame and cut off forever.'  The LORD draws near on all the nations. As you have done to Jacob, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.' "

These are the words of the Lord spoken to the prophet Obadiah, adapted as if Benjamin Netanyahu were speaking to Congress. Today, July 24, 2024, if we listen, we hear God calling us to help our brother Jacob. Will we? Or will we become Edom, a people destined to fall because they refused Israel in her time of need?
