She has served as a peer counselor and educator for teens in crisis and Butte County Child Abuse Prevention Council, worked at a local Behavioral Health center, and was the first Workplace Violence Prevention Educator at her hometown hospital.

In 2017, Heidi educated over 3,000 caregivers annually on topics such as workplace violence prevention, self-defense, de-escalation, active shooter preparedness, situational awareness, body language, psychological safety, and self-care. She is also a Certified Professional Life Coach specializing in Empowerment Coaching.
