The Fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD, the End of the Time of the Gentiles, and the al-Aqsa Deluge War

RALEIGH, N.C. - ncarol.com -- Some of Jesus' disciples admired the temple's beauty, but Jesus foretold its destruction, saying not one stone would be left standing. They asked when this would happen and for a sign. Jesus warned of "the abomination that causes desolation" in Judea and urged flight.

In 168 BC, Antiochus IV Epiphanes desecrated the temple, sparking the Maccabean Revolt. Later events, like Pompey's intrusion in 63 BC and Caligula's threats in 40 AD, echoed this desecration. In May AD 66, a Gentile mob defiled a synagogue in Caesarea, mirroring historical provocations. Eleazar ben Hanania's refusal to sacrifice for the Roman Emperor in 66 marked rebellion.

When Gallus' abandoned his siege of Jerusalem in AD 66 those who remembered Jesus' words and recalled the desecration from 167 to 164 BC should have taken note. Instead, most remained, celebrating their temporary victory over Rome.

In August of 70 AD, Rome returned with greater force and Titus destroyed Jerusalem along with its Temple. Not until July 30, 1980, did Jerusalem regain its status as Israel's capital. Israel pledged to protect Holy Places, including the Temple Mount. The al-Aqsa Deluge War began when Jews prayed inside the walls of the Temple Mount. For this act, Hamas attacked Israel.

Nations are now choosing sides. (Reuters) - "Russia condemned violence against both Jews and Palestinians in Israel, but criticized the United States for what it said was its destructive approach which had ignored the need for an independent Palestinian state."

Nine countries — Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkey — have recognized Palestine as a state. Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States have not.

"They [my people] will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled." — Jesus Luke 21:24

It would seem that the purging of Gentiles from Jerusalem has begun.
